Woo Who Foundation
Woo Who Foundation is a not for profit organization devoted to providing a service to our Breast Cancer Community. Whether it's supporting a woman through the trials of breast cancer, aiding the families of those women who continue to fight or have lost their battle with Breast Cancer, or supporting causes that promote the fight for a cure. Our goal is to host a number of fundraisers and events throughout the year in order to grow a fund to benefit several local families in need.
Anchored by our annual UrbanObstacle and a series of benefit concerts that support the foundation financially, all of our events focus on enjoying life and having a good time. In our minds, fundraising is a celebration of those that we've lost and miss dearly, a celebration of those that continue to fight and inspire us daily, and a celebration of community spirit and goodwill. Please enjoy looking through our site and we look forward to see you at a WOO WHO event in the near future! The next exciting event Woo Who will be hosting is a New Year's Eve party! As for the party: For starters, here is the line up of bands: Filmstrip Nowhere Lucky Ones Family Band Exploding Lies Palaces Insurance Salesman featuring: DJ Fred Gunn The Elegant Mollusk (A Gypsy Fiddle Duo) The show will start at 7pm and the bands will play through until 1am. Doors open at 6pm and we will have a full bar! Tickets are $12 in advance (www.LocalRockCLE.com or WooWhoFoundation.com) and $15 on the day of the show. There will be a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. As for us: We are a volunteer run non-profit group that gives direct aid to women in our NE Ohio community that are fighting breast cancer. In 2013 we granted out over $20,000 to women in need. We give them direct aid to help with their monthly expenses in order to offset the extraordinary cost of care. The charity was started by Jim Riley- he is an Avon Lake resident- born and raised in the Cleveland area. He lost his first wife to Breast Cancer in 2008- she fought against the disease for 3 years and it ultimately took her life. Tricia was a force within her family and her community so it was very easy to get people to offer their time and money in her honor to start up our charity and help women just like her. Our website is www.woowhofoundation.com- you can find more information about our charity, about Tricia and about the NYE event there! We also have profiles on the women we've been fortunate enough to help over the years. We're a new foundation and we are relatively small, so all support is so appreciated!
Woo Who and those helping with this charitable fundraiser are all very much appreicated!
